I traveled down to Anaheim on Friday afternoon and it took FOREVER. There were accidents every freeway and it took us almost 90 minutes to get there when it should have taken 50 minutes: boo for Labor Day traffic! I had to work in the morning, about 5 hours, so I think that also slowed us down.
We parked at Mickey and Friends and walked over. The Expo was so well organized!! We went and got our bibs, shirts and walked around. It was not crowded at all and we were able to go to all the booths.
We spent a lot of time seeing what was around and what we wanted to buy. I looked at the sweatybands, sparkle athletic and sparkle skirts booth to make decisions about what to buy for future costumes.
We also went to the official merchandise area. There were was a lot left but not much that I personally wanted. I love my race shirts and I wear those.
I did however want a Coast to Coast shirt and they were out of smalls and mediums! I will keep checking at Wine and Dine as well as at Avengers. If I can’t get it, I may get the raw threads castle to castle shirt. I am running 2 WDW races and 3 DL races, and earning 2 coast to coast medals! I need a shirt!
I di dhowever get a sweatyband that is rundisney themed. I am going to test it out over the next few months to see if I want to buy them for race costumes.
We also checked out the clif booth (yay samples!) and I bought 10 clifshots as my running store by me now only carries vanilla. They were 1 dollar each which is a great price. I will need to stock up again at other expos too!
We also took great pics at the picture opportunities set up. They turned out cute!
We came back to the Expo on Saturday to buy a sparkle skirt for me, as well as go to the Screening Room. We saw the pilots for Selfie (got a mirror for our iphones), Manhattan love story (got a great tote bag), and Blackish (a drawstring backpack). I loved all of them and it was great to be in a room with A/C and cold water. I HIGHLY suggest watching the pilots as a way to rest and relax. I will definitely plan on doing it next time.
Overall, the expo was awesome! I am so glad they listened to feedback and organized it much better. I highly suggest attending the Expo Friday morning/early afternoon-it was very uncrowded and easy to get around. It also seemed like they had less booths this year (there really weren't other races being advertised) so I think that helped with the overcrowding as well.
What were your thoughts on the Expo this year?
