I can't believe less than 24 hours until I will be running my first marathon!! I will have more posts throughout the week about my prep and everything but for now, let's do a quick review of the Expo.
Well the greatest thing ever happened at the Expo, I met Deena Kastor WITH NO LINE! I'm surprised I didn't fall at her feet. Incase you don't know who she is, here is her biography and pretty much she is amazing. I remember when she won the Bronze in Athens and I freaked! Americans rarely medal in longer distances in track. She is just such an inspiration.
Up until this point, I had been so nervous! I felt like throwing up walking into the Expo, however meeting Deena it put me at ease. I feel so ready to run!
They had a name wall (my new favorite thing) and I found my name pretty quickly! It's kind of crazy thinking about the same number of runners that ran Princess are running the full!
Outside they had the marathon challenge, where you get on a treadmill set to the record marathon pace and see how long you can stay on. I saw a lady stay on for 2:01 and that was the record so far for a women. When I walked up, a man had already done 5 minutes and looked like he would hold up for awhile.
Oh one more thing I saw and loved-DUNKIN DONUTS JELLY DONUT COFFEE! and they are opening their first Southern California store in San Diego on Monday! I am beyond excited to be able to "run on Dunkin".
This is the first Expo I have attended more than the day before the race and I really enjoyed it. I feel like I am less rushed and more relaxed.
My plan for today-clean the house, get through my crazy to do list, blog a lot and stretch-stretch-stretch. Last night I packed and prepped everything so I could completely relax today.
Are you running the marathon? What was your thoughts on the Expo?
