I am beyond excited for Redemption in this race compared to last year. You can read my recap here but overall it was INSANELY hot and humid and I did not meet my time goal but I did train well for it and felt I kept the energy up as I went along. My goal for this year is 4:35 (why, because next time I run the LA Marathon, I would be able to be in a corral! You have to be under 5:00:59 to be in a corral) and I think after training for Dopey, Star Wars, and Glass Slipper, I will be ready!
Overall, this race rocks and if you want to register too (which you should!), you can find the details here.
ASICS LA Marathon - U.S. Residents$160
ASICS LA Marathon - non U.S. Residents $205
LA Big 5K$40
Not going to lie, I was tempted to run the LA Big5K the morning before as it was only a 30 dollar add on but decided to save my legs for the marathon.
Also, if you register today, you get a 25% Asics online coupon-yay for new shoes!! And don't forget, if you ran last year, you got an email with a 10 dollar off code (which basically saves you the processing fee but any little bit helps!)
One more thing---The 2015 USATF Marathon Championships will be held in Los Angeles on March 15, 2015 in conjunction with the ASICS LA Marathon with prize money totaling over $150,000. Running with Elites is always a fun experience.
Anyone else planning on running??
