First time in Corral A for a Disneyland race!
I have decided to join a new linkup: Triumph Thursdays hosted by Smitha from Running With SD Mom, Linzie from Sharp Endurance & Carlee from Carlee McDot. This week I will talk about The Tinkerbell 10k and how it was the best Disney 10k I have ever run (even though the DL 10k of 2013 was amazing as it was the first one!)!

The morning started early at 4am. I was slow moving and eventually got ready and out of the hotel by 445 and at the pre run area by 5. My costume for the day was Iridessa, the fairy of Light. I used the portas  (first one in the porta!) and then checked my bag and headed to the corral. I chatted up a few people and before I knew it, it was time to take off.

I decided to run by feel and get over on the sidewalk to do my walk intervals and the plan worked well. I walked the first 3 "hills" aka overpasses and finished the first mile around 10:45 and before I knew it, we were in the backlot! I took some water and headed into the park.

We hit Disneyland first so I stopped for a pic with the outside. Then I stopped for a pic driving the Fire Truck and with chip and Dale.

Made it to DL!

Chip n Dale but double exposure from the Marathonfoto flashes
I continued and got a pic with the partners statue and headed into Frontierland and stopped for a potty break at the Pinocchio bathroom and ran through fantasyland and got a pic with Alice and the Mad Hater.
Picture
instead of cheese, we yelled TEA! and I told them I had English Breakfast tea that morning and they were so happy
We continued through fantasyland and headed into tomororwland but not before a stop with IRIDESSA (aka myself) and a castle pic.
Picture
I MET MYSELF! yay for having matching costumes
Picture
I love the Diamond Castle so much
In Tomorrowland no one was out so I stopped for Rosetta by small world before heading backstage again and re-entering by toontown.

I got a picture with Horace horse collar and clarabelle cow before heading backstage and heading over to DCA.
Picture
they are 2 of my favorites and i freaked when they were together
Backstage I got a picture of the Tink projection and Iridessa on a mile marker.
Picture
love these projections backstage
Picture
her outfit is a bit sexier than mine...
Entering DCA, I got a pic with storyteller and headed into hollywoodland and a bugs land. I stopped for a photo with Silvermist and the Carsland sign.

We're just getting started!

Silvermist! Who loved my rainbow headband

still my love!
On paradise pier, I got a picture with Vidia and with the pier itself before running on the pier. Shoutout to the fairies and all their handlers for knowing who I was! It was great for people to get it :)
Picture
her outfit is beautiful even if she is the mean fairy

I was sad the World of Color fountains weren't going :(
We went backstage and finally ran through a bit of Carsland before being backstage until the finish. In Carsland I got a pic with mater and McQueen which was my longest line (about 5 minutes).
Picture
Ive never gotten a pic with both of them together!
I was feeling strong and knew I could Disney PR with all of my photo stops. I finished in1:21:57- more than a 3 minute PR and fifteen photo stops plus all my selfies and a bathroom break. and let's not forget I was trying to take it easy since I had a half marathon the next day.  My running segments were about 1:03 (my watch paused randomly and got off intervals). I definitely have found the interval that works for me-2:00/:30. It allows me to push myself without feeling tired or sore.

Afterwards, I went to shower so I could go grab breakfast (not getting a runners box really put a damper in my food plan). Best thing: walking back to the hotel, I ran into a reader from the blog! I love when that happens so if you ever see me, say hi!
I then went into the park to meet up with Stephanie and see the hatbox ghost and other rides before grabbing lunch and a nap. I went to the Facebook meet up and won a door prize! Woohoo.

Our shoes glowing waiting in Haunted Mansion
I then had a private dinner with myself at carthay which was awesome. I had a mojito, jasmine rice and a salad. It was a perfect carbload and didn't upset my stomach.

I finished dinner so quick that I went to see the Tomorrowland premiere carpet and saw Richard Sherman, Bob Gurr, Damon lindelof, brad bird and of course George Clooney! He was attractive but had very grey hair and was short. Oh well.

I got back to the room around 630 and got ready for bed and stretched and rolled and got into bed at 730 and was asleep by 830. It's amazing how much better I felt by getting 7 hours of sleep!

Overall this was my favorite 10k that Disney has on either coast and is probably my favorite course at Disneyland period. It reminded me of the DL 10k the first year with a ton of characters-hopefully they will do that again.
I had FIFTEEN photo stops which is definitely a record for me! I love being in Corral A for the photos :)

Did you run the tinkerbell 10k? How was the last 10k you ran?

I love the sunrise over the castle :)

Congratulations on your 10k finish. You have great pictures. How cool you even PR with stopping for photos. I didn't stop at all. I missed some great photo ops.

The 10Ks are definitely my favorite runDisney distance. I normally use them for my photo stops. CONGRATS on kickin' booty while having a blast!!

I live in France and even if we have Disney here, they have not yet organized a Disney race. The first one is in Sept. 2016. I can't wait !

The past few 10ks I have done have been a bit of a bust (dumbo 2014, dopey 2015 and Princess 2015). This one reminded me a lot more of dumbo 2013-the first Disney 10k ever

I was surprised how short the lines all were. I think the longest I waited was 5 minutes which is crazy. During dopey, there were a few photo stops that were 10 min!!

Thanks for hosting! I only saw 1 or 2 other Iridessa. Tink was the most popular followed by Zarina and Fawn

This recap makes me really happy. I've been trying to find recaps of the 10k since I'm doing it this year. I'm really looking forward to it.
