We then did something I don't think we've ever done before: we went BACK to DCA through buena vista street, through Hollywoodland and out the backlot to ball road. It was weird to have the course loop by but it was great to have a bit more park time.
By the time the cars wrapped up, we passed Honda center and were on the Santa Ana trail over to Anaheim stadium. We hit the Clif station right before getting in the stadium
And after that, it was all downhill (in a good way!). Coming out of the stadium, it is lacking without the reenactors and veterans like at Avengers but still fun. We just need to head back to Disneyland. We tried to pick up the pace as much as we could and were in high spirits.
Right after mile 12, we headed backstage and knew the finish was close. This race is always so special to me as it is my runniversary and my first challenge. I always get emotional towards the finish line. It's hard to imagine that when I ran my first race 6 years ago and was so sore and out of it, I would be back running challenges and feeling great! And it was my 45th Disney race which is CRAZY!
We finished and both felt pretty great! We took some pics and then headed off to get ready for the day.
Of course I will be doing this weekend again next year as it will be the 5th year of Dumbo and the 10k and we will finally have the answer to if they are doing legacies for challenges other than Goofy and for the 10ks! The weather actually has gotten better every year of dumbo and this was the best one yet so I hope it keeps improving!
What was the last half marathon you ran?
