Since I'm off Fridays, I always do my shopping. Since I had a big stock up week last week(and also ate out more meals than usual) I did not need much this week but decided to stock up. On with the show! TARGET So this is not food but I got amazing deals on workout stuff that I needed! New headbands, 12 new pairs of socks (for 14 bucks!), 2 cotton workout shirts with built in bras (for easy runs and also hikes), 2 Uv running hats (they were 6 each!)!! I needed all of it so I'm glad I swung by target VONS super small-I went for butter (2.50 which is a decent price), kiwis (3 for 1 dollar) and tomatoes (.60/ can which is an amazing price!). They also had a good deal on tea-2.79 for a box of 20. I bought some chai tea concentrate to try it out. It's organic and pretty natural. And they had organic squash for 99 cents per lb. I picked one that was a pound but obviously the scale was way off because it was almost two pounds! I want to try to make butternut squash pizza this week Overall I spent about 15 bucks. FRESH N EASY I got some good deals here! Everything I bought was on clearance (minus the berries which was 2/4 which isn't the best price but they are about to be out of season) The best deal I got was the salad for 37 cents. The most interesting thing I got was a yam! I'm so excited to cook with it. I may try to make some yam latkes with dipping sauce later this week. I got garlic bread for carb loading for my race and a pumpkin cider (non alcoholic) for after my race as a treat! Spent 15 dollars r Ralph's I came here for a pomegranate!!! They are almost in season and are one of my favorites. I also had a coupon for the sweet corn (.59 cents so half price) and also for the cheese it's. Now those are nowhere near healthy but I thought my boyfriend may like them. The veggie medley was a surprise and I made it for dinner with butter, salt and pepper. Delish! And it went great with my leftover Chinese food. 4 bucks Overall it was a good trip however I'm not sure how I'm going to eat all of this food! I'm about to sit down and make out a food plan now! I decided to write a post about some of my dinners from this week since I have a half marathon on Sunday. I'm running the rock n roll LA half and honestly I'm on the fence about it :/ I've never done a rock n roll race but for me it's the timing. Fall is crazy at work with the start of school and also football season so trying to train has been rough. I ended up messing up my sciatic nerve and an finally recovered but I'm worried it may come back. However I am super excited about our costumes and I think it will be fun-as long as it's not too hot! And after I am going to Disneyland to celebrate! But anyway, on to the food! Started last Sunday with steak, asparagus and mashed potatoes. I'm goal is to add a carb to every meal to start my carb stores. I've also never had asparagus before and really liked it! I have another bag in my Fridge. The mashed potatoes used milk and butter and also a whole bag of cauliflower that you could barely taste. I have some of this leftover and will be fueling with it at lunch time tomorrow! My dinner on Monday. I was stuck at work and had squash, bell peppers and chicken and salad for dinner. Yum yum! Yay for homemade chili! I had this in the crockpot and then saved some for all my lunches for this week I don't have dinner for weds and thurs. Me and the boyfriend went out for Mexican so I split that meal. I had rice and beans and enchiladas. Howver above is my dinner for tonight. Veggies and chicken and rice. The chicken is sweet and sour chicken left over form lunch today and it's pretty good. Overall I feel like I've added enough carbs to do my body justice. In the morning I'm going to go grab a pumpkin spice latte (RIP-they will be gone so soon!) and also some oatmeal as a treat to myself. Race day is almost here! |
