I have a mini surprise: I may run a local 5k in the morning! It does not start until 10am and I would have to sign up at 9:30 before it starts but I need to get 3 miles in tomorrow anyway so I figure why not run my first race in texas, in the cold, and some local? It will really depend on weather as it may be raining/sleeting so it will be a game time decision. I don't know if I can race it as I have niggles (nervous wiggles during the Taper) all over but I will go on feel. I don't think it is even timed or I would get a medal or anything but I thought it would be a good way to get out there. The chances of me ever running a 5k on New Years will be close to 0 because of living in Pasadena with the Rose Parade and the Bowl!
I won't be in Pasadena and I am sad as I will miss the parade! But I will watch it on tv for sure-I want to see the tribute to Louis Zamperini of having Traveler the horse lead the parade with no one riding him. Back story to this: Zamperini was a hardcore USC Trojan (Fight On Forever!) and Traveler is the animal mascot of the USC (the Trojan being the actual mascot). For a horse to not to have a rider is a tribute for a fallen solider which represents his insane journey. I finally finished Unbroken a few days ago and it was beyond an amazing experience. I need to try and see the movie before I head to Orlando on Sunday!
Have did everyone ring in the new year? Any plans for New Years Day?
