EAT WELL
I had a great week and finally have food again! I carbloaded great (lots of rice!) I'm excited to cook some fun meals this week-chicken and zucchini noodles, stuffed burgers, stuffed pork chops before doing a small carbload on Friday for a Saturday race.

SLEEP WELL
I got just decent sleep this week. Work was pretty stressful and it made sleeping difficult. I just finished a great book on sleeping smarter that I'm going to adopt some things from to hopefully help me sleep better. I was however super tired after my 1 mile run and took a 30 min nap on the beach and then fell asleep at 8:15 and slept almost 10 hours before my race-crazy!
My goal is to get 8 hours of sleep for real. It can get hard with some of the dissertation work I need to get done as I want to be able to take a break from it at dark side but i will see!

EXERCISE WELL
Last week:

  • Monday: Short weights and yoga
  • Tuesday: 3 miles + weights
  • Wednesday: Running strength + core
  • Thursday: 3 mile run +weights
  • Friday: rest day
  • Saturday: 1 mile race
  • Sunday: Carlsbad 5000 All Day 20k/Disneyland for Food and Wine-race was great-full recap this week!
This week:
  • Monday: Yoga recovery
  • Tuesday: 3 miles +weights
  • Wednesday: Running strength abs
  • Thursday: 3 miles
  • Friday: rest day
  • Saturday: Santa Anita 5k
BE WELL
I turned in 2 additional sections of my dissertation to my chair on Friday!! 2 more to go! I need to get some major work done this week on the other two sections, my master reference list and my outcomes but things are moving along nicely and I'm not too stressed about it.
Getting away to Carlsbad was just what I needed: I saw my Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, spent time at the beach, went to a winery and had great pizza.
And after the race, I was able to check out the DCA Food and Wine festival. A full recap is coming!

How was your week?

How great you ran Carlsbad! Can't wait to hear about it. I flew out of LA after spring break the day before and had hoped to head to Carlsbad run it, alas airfare was 3x higher is I stayed a day longer.

I am still struggling to get back into a routine of 8 hours of sleep on the week nights. This time change has me wanting to go to bed later and thus not wanting to get up earlier. I'd be curious about the sleep book.

I finally feel like I am recovered from the time change-crazy how long it takes!

I want to see Big Fat Greek Wedding 2! Did you like it? I bet the DCA Food & Wine Festival was the perfect post race treat. Good luck with your dissertation and with the 5k this weekend. Thanks for linking with us Juliana.
