As I have mentioned before, I'm trying to get away from eating bread before races and Instead switch to oatmeal. I think it will be a nice change as well as be easier to travel with (I always worry about my Ezekiel bread as it has no preservatives and needs to be refrigerated). It also seems to have a bit more carbs which should be good for lasting during the race.
So to test this out, I'm going to have a bowl of oatmeal every morning this week to see how it does with my stomach. I will have the ultimate test on Sunday when I run 6 miles with some friends. I think it will serve me good to try this out especially because oatmeal is gluten free (as long as it isn't cross contaminated).
In this time I am also going to cut out eating eggs in the morning. I eat them every morning with bacon or sausage but I want to test something else out. Also, I want to make sure I don't have an egg allergy (a super mini virgin diet/ whole 30 challenge).
Also in this time I am going to cut out yogurt and dairy. Why? Honestly I just didn't buy any yogurt or dairy this week and don't plan on going shopping until Friday. Might as well test out for the week! Both my mom and brother have lactose issues but I've never seek to have a problem. Hopefully this week will show that as still being true.
Anyone else ever do a mini-elimination diet? What did you cut out and how did you feel after?
