If you had ever told me that I would buy Skechers for running I would have thought you were crazy.
Honestly I hadn't heard much about them until Meb won Boston then it was everywhere! Then Kara Goucher signed with them as well. So I decided to do some research.
Well they were pretty affordable and looked to be light weight (the go run 3s are 5 oz for women!!!) so I've been looking to try them on and see what I thought.
I finally went to a Skechers store in the Glendale Galleria and tried on 3 pairs:
Well it turns out in Skechers I am a 7.5 instead of an 8. Good thing I got sized. Overall they were all great shoes but I felt the first ones were a bit too heavy for my feet, the second ones were good but the third ones were great!
DESCRIPTION OF THE GOMEB SPEED 2:
The next generation of Skechers GOmeb Speed is the official shoe of Meb, winner Boston 2014. The Skechers GOmeb Speed 2 shoe is built for competitive racing and designed for speed using our most advanced innovative performance technologies.
Also, I told the sales guy I was a runner and he lead me to show 1 and 2. Well it eventually came out that I run mostly half marathons and training will begin soon for my second marathon. Then he said I had to go with the Meb shoe. Now I know for next time to let the salesperson know what distance I run.
So I bought the Meb shoes. And even better, I got a 10 dollar off code to use in the future! Woohoo! I may buy some more Skechers.
Oh and btw, my boyfriend said I'm a slow shopper. I was in and out in 20 minutes! It's an important decision with all of my races coming up! He doesn't even know slow shopping haha.
I plan on getting in a run soon and will do a write up on them. So excited to try them!
UPDATE: got a run in Tuesday and I'm OBSESSED! Seriously the most comfortable shoes I've had. And the are so light and spring back nicely from the ground. And it may be in my head but I felt I was using less energy. And I finished in under 34 minutes for 3.1 miles which is my fastest time since a week or so before my surgery. I can't wait to run in them again after my vacation!
Have you ever run in Skechers?
