I already recapped my 2015 goals and how they turned out and I am happy I did. I feel I did okay but definitely know I could do better! I have divided them into 3 categories: life goals, running goals, blog goals so let's get to it.
1. FINAL Draft of dissertation By December
I have my first dissertation meeting on Monday! By December, I need at least a first final draft complete if I plan on defending in early spring, and final corrections by March so I can graduate may 2017. That is so crazy to think about!!
2. Watch one classic movie a month
I used to be in love with TCM and classic movies and have gone through many of the AFI top 100 lists. I watched 3 movies over my break-On the Town, How to Marry a Millionaire and High Society and loved them. I want to make it a goal to watch one classic movie (1980s and before. Preferably from 1960s but there are stand outs (Godfather, etc))
3. Develop a home routine
Sine my boyfriend and I have moved in together, our relationship definitely has improved (not that it was bad before, but it is just better!) however our home routine is a bit of a mess haha. Often I am throwing in chores whenever and it can be stressful so I want to get on a routine to follow and do a bit every day versus reserving everything for the weekend.
4. Read one book a month
I have a goal at work to read one book per month for work and since being a Learning Specialist/getting a Doctorate in Educational Psychology, I get to read books that I really enjoy and that help me out in life but also with my work and school. I want to stick with this even with the craziness of school. I read books really quickly and then write up small reports and notes for work so this is definitely do-able.
1. Race times: sub 5 for full, sub 2:05 For half, sub 58 for 10k, sub 27 for 5k
I have been trying to go sub-5 on the marathon for awhile and I finally think this is my year!
The other times have been a bit more elusive but I want to work towards them. The goal is to ultimately get to a sub 2 hour half but that would mean taking a full minute off my race time and I am not sure I am there yet but it I know I will get there.
2. Lose 5-10% of my body fat and keep it off
Even though I feel like I'm getting stronger, I'm gaining weight which I don't appreciate. Instead of going by weight as that number does not tell the whole story, I want to lose body fat. I would love to lose 10% but that may not be good for me so if I can Lose 5%, that will work too.
3. Rock Slave Leia outfit
Like most people, I am very self conscious about exposing my body but I've agreed to do a slave Leia/Tiana mashup for Star Wars: Dark Side so I will be very exposed! I have the costume already but I need to train to feel confident in the outfit. Goals 2 and 4 should help me get there.
4. Weight train 3x a week
This is also important. I need to get stronger and the way to do that is with weights.
1. Join at least one blog share.
I'm not sure what to call them but they are a way to get your blog out there and also meet other people.
2. Gain at least one ambassadorship
There are many brands I know and love and I would love to gain an ambassadorship by the end of the year.
3. Interact with social media
I plan on commenting on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter at least once a day. I like to view things on social media but I don't always comment. This is a way for me to meet others and get myself out there.
