I have, *knock on wood*, never had a DNS or DNF.
I have been lucky to never have serious injuries that have kept me from running. My first race I've ever done, the 2010 DL half, I had IT band issues and then Wine and Dine Half Marathon and Inaugural Avengers Half, I had sciatica/piriformis syndrome. Even though I had to slow down, I was able to finish.
I am very intentional with my race schedule-I vary rarely travel for races so since most of them are local, I'm able to do them. Even though this year has been crazy with 30 races, I was able to fit everything in.
The closest I came to a DNF was the 2015 LA Marathon. I was in pain with the heat and crazy weather and I was forced to walk at mile 20. As I was walking it in, I never saw a med tent because I think if I have, I would have stopped. I am glad I finished that race and I definitely learned a lot about warm weather pacing and know I need to slow down and decrease my interval. I was able to show that with a hot long beach marathon and a new PR and even the NYCM was very humid.
How about you? Have you ever DNS or DNF?
