April from Run the Great Wide Somewhere, Erika from MCM Mama Runs, and Patty from No-Guilt Life. This week's topic is Favorite Fitness App.
Over Christmas I got the fitbit Charge and love it. I originally had the Flex last year but it started to rip and when I contacted the company, they let me know it had been recalled-BOO. However they were nice enough to ship me a 125 rebate check and so I went and bought the Fitbit Flex. It was fine but I missed the display screen.
I love my Fitbit Charge because it tracks many things:
- My Steps
- My Miles (even though this is a bit off. I am measuring it on runs against my GPS and for a 5k (3.1 miles) it is about .3 miles short!)
- My Active Minutes
- Stairs climbed
- Sleep
- Water (which I doesn't often use but it is nice)
- Exercise (which can be used with GPS but it does drain the battery
You can click on any of these and get a more detailed analysis and average for the week and month.
Above is a screen capture of my activity from when I ran the WDW Marathon. I left it charging when I walked over to Art of Animation so it should be a bit higher. This was my most active day ever recorded.
You can set your goal on it. It defaults to 10,000 steps which is what I have kept it on. It will vibrate when you reach that goal.
The thing that sets the Charge apart from other trackers is that it has a display screen. Mine says the date and time and then my steps, miles, and calories burned. It also will automatically track your sleep for you but you can manually set it by holding down the button on the side. I love seeing all of it because it does keep me active and it is much easier then always having to sync to your phone to see it.
Syncing is also easy. It is through bluetooth and takes less than a minute.
Does anyone else have a fitness tracker? Which one do you have?
