I am in WDW right now and NOT running so I most likely not the person to ask about this. Here are my tips for warm weather running.
**check the weather
This is before one because it is crucial. You need to know temperature and humidity. These will help you prep correctly for your run.
1. Change your mindset
Hot weather is not the time to go for crazy PRs. Take care of yourself and adjust your mindset for the times you will be seeing.
All the time even when not running. Make sure while running you are drinking early and often, before you feel dehydrated. Once you feel dehydrated, it is hard to catch up.
3. Dress correctly
Above is a nifty chart I have been using on what to wear. Make sure you have on lightweight and wicking clothing. You may also want sunglasses and a hat depending on the sun.
When it gets warm, I don't like eating too much. Make sure you are fueling during long runs to make sure you don't pass out or get sick.
5. Slow down
Shorten your interval and/or slow your run speed. The run will be tough but by slowing down, will help your body adjust and be able to finish.
6. Have fun!
Just because it is warm, does not mean you can't have fun! Have fun on those warm runs and remember-warm summer runs lead to cool Fall PRs ;)
