Today's topic is cold weather running. Living in California I don't get to do too much of this (thank goodness) but since it's November it will start to be cold in the morning.
For example, this morning when I woke up, it was 48 degrees! My coldest morning yet so I actually put on a long sleeve shirt and capris to run. While running, I felt like I was overheating so I will need to decide if I want pants or long sleeve shirt but not both. The cooler weather also allows for faster runs but not today. My right IT band is really sore-I slept on it weird. I need to get it better so I can race this weekend.
I'm a bit concerned about wine and dine this weekend. It is supposed to be in the 40-50s on race night! I added in a pair of running capris, leggings and long sleeve shirt and it'll be a game time decision as to what I wear. I also had to add in 2 pairs of jeans as that is pretty chilly for lows at night-especially with it getting dark at 5pm. Hopefully the daytime will be nice and we can still wear shorts.
Overall, I'm excited to start running in cooler temps. The summer has been hot and humid so I'm looking forward to not getting up at 5am to get in long miles especially with 2 more long runs before Dopey.
What do you wear in cold weather running?
